The colorful layer represents who we really are. There are so many different colors to our personality. Each of us is so complex and unique. Each one of us is a soul that goes far deeper than anyone realizes. The cracks represent the mistakes we make in our lives. None of us are perfect. But out of those mistakes, those cracks, grow flowers of character and make us who we are, and can even make us better. That is what “Human” means to me. So glad I finished this! It took so long and I put a lot of work into it, hope you like it!

So the image I drew is about conformity and sameness. In the background there are a ton of people who are all standing in perfect, boring lines and all in a dull black and white. These people have let themselves be captured by Conformity and now all look exactly the same and are no longer individuals. The girl in front is in the midst of a struggle. You can see that Conformity is holding her down in chains trying to contain her. She is almost all gray, almost taken over. But with one last fighting burst of struggle, her true, bright, colorful, unique personality is breaking through in beams of colored light. The gray layer that has enveloped her is cracking and breaking away. Because she will not conform to the way the world thinks she should be, she will not submit and become another dull, lifeless gray figure that looks like everyone else. All of us, deep down inside are totally crazy, weird, beautiful things and that's what makes life so interesting and amazing.
